Web 2.0 for education
Since students are always interested in technology in trend, these tools should absolutely not be left out of education. I remembered me as a student in elementary school and middle school was very excited every time when the teacher gave lectures with multi-media tools. So I believe that students will be more interested in the teaching content and more careful about what teachers say in class.
What teachers should do is to make reasonable and practical rules to regulate students' actions when using these tools. For example, when using facebook or twitter in class, specific regulations should be made. Teachers should tell students not to post links or comments irrelevant to teaching content. Moreover, they have to be responsible for what they do and respect their peers' opinions.
With reasonable restriction, educational tools of modern technology can help teaching and learning
enormously. Teachers can share educational resources with colleagues, which helps educators to update their databases and techniques. Students can share opinions and knowledge with their peers, which will be beneficial for them to make progress together.
Nowadays, no one can escape from the life online. So why not use modern technology in teaching and learning and make a difference?
